 St. John’s Wort, Timed Release [Nervous]
is known for its benefits to the nervous system, specifically for help with mild to moderate depres-sion. Time-Release St. John’s Wort contains the finest raw St. John’s Wort herb, standardized to contain hyperforin (3.0%) and hypericin (0.2%) in a base of 450 mg St. John’s Wort extract powder. St. John’s Wort contains at least 10 pharma-cologically active constituents. Numerous studies show that one of these, hypericin, appears to act similar to MAO inhibitors and serotonin-reuptake inhibitors, which elevate mood and act as a mild sedative. Recent studies further show that hyper-forin may have powerful mood-enhancing properties.
CAUTION: While taking this product, avoid exposure to strong sunshine and tanning rays or tanning salons. It is advisable to wear sunglasses when being exposed to strong sunlight conditions. Consult your health care provider before using this product if you are taking prescription antidepressive drugs including selective serotonin uptake inhibitors, as well as any MAO inhibitors.
